In Native tribes that walked the path known as the Sun Dance Way to giveaway was to stand in an act of selfless, unconditional love and give something of yourself without expecting anything in return. To Giveaway could be done on both a grand scale and in smaller more personal ways as way. A child might giveaway their most prized necklace or a pair of warm moccasins to another child visiting from another tribe to show their relation in the eyes of the Earth Mother. A Peace Chief might give away several of their fastest horses to another tribe during a renewal dance as a reminder of brotherly love and the importance of walking the Sun Dance Way. Since Native people’s saw animal kingdom as relations rather than beasts when a buffalo or deer gave its life so that the people could eat and create new warm pelts for themselves this was also considered a Give Away, one which the people were extremely grateful for.

When the Giveaway card appears in our midst it is time for us to dive deeper into unconditional love and see which ways we can Give Away to those around us. We can Giveaway through acts of kindness such as smiling, offering sincere guidance or affirmations of love to others. We can give away simply by offering others our time and attention without the expectation that they must hold space for us as well. Right now our Moon being in Taurus there is a special focus on the relationship with our possessions and the need to make sure we are in balance with the way we seek and define ownership. So, this makes it a very powerful time to Give Away personal items to another individual that you think will benefit from this gift. What

makes a Give Away especially powerful is the willingness to freely part with something that still hold love for you. So when trying to decide what to offer be sure that you don’t slip into a “well I don’t want this anymore so they can have it now I guess” mentality.

One of my favorite quotes is “we can only own that which we are willing to give away” which I think is a true testimony to the elation that one feels when you offer a sincere gift of love for one another, simply because you know it will bring them joy.

It is also quite a sacred act to Give Away back to Mother Nature. Remember, the Earth gives us literally everything. What a blessed act to give her love back in return. This can be through focused intention and love sent her way by spending time alone beneath a tree that lovingly offers you shade, this can be by leaving crystals and small talismans amongst nature for the Mother to hold and others to find when the time is right.

Above all I believe the Give Away is about recognizing our interconnectedness to one another and the simple fact that we are stronger and wealthier as a whole than we could ever be individually.

Though in the modern world corn has modified and mutated to become the core ingredient in most processed foods to the native people of the Americas corn was a sacred symbol of the Harvest, a reason to celebrate because there was enough food and nourishment for everyone to the point of overflow.

When the corn appears in our midst it is heralding a time of tangible prosperity. We are entering a time where our visions of success are more than fantasy and are becoming grounded into the Earth as a part of our reality. This is a time for celebration of all the time and consistent effort you have put towards your dreams. This is a time to allow yourself to sit in your successes, truly allowing the impact of all that you have done to wash over you. Often when we get a taste of victory we may want to dive headlong into the next challenge. Not this time. This time we must allow ourselves to soak in the moment and show true appreciate for ourselves and the divine for what is unfolding before our eyes.

Another key energy of The Corn is the reminder that there is truly enough abundance in this world to go around, more than enough for us to share in each other’s joy without jealousy in comparison.

If you find yourself slipping into a jealous energy for another’s accomplishments you are still living in the mistaken belief that this is a “dog eat dog” world and that you have to scrape by hoping for a mere taste of happiness. As soon as you do away with the energy of comparison and recognize the divinity in having your own lane, your own journey waiting to be manifested you will see just how truly abundant and free flowing with grace this universe can be.

There is a natural rhythm to the movements in our world, a divine example being the ebb and flow between the moon and our oceans. When the Flow card appears before us we are asked to sink into our own natural rhythms, releasing the need to force or control situations in our personal worlds.

This is a time where our intentions have been set in motion and now we must simple continue on the path before us with grace. This does not mean to become a stagnant pool of water, waiting for the possibility of life to come to you. Instead, it means to become a river moving seamlessly with the wind and carefully flowing past any obstacles that present themselves.

To flow is to fall into harmony with nature, with the divine. When the winds of change blow, like a leaf we must allow ourselves to be carried upon the wind to our destination. To flow we must find being harmony within our own beings as well. We must ask ourselves if our mind, body and spirit are dancing in Divine Union or are we perhaps neglecting or focusing our attention to only one aspect of our divinity. We must remember the wholly trinity of self. We must also bring harmony to our minds and to our hearts. When these two merge successfully this is the birth place of intuition. Neither can be left in a dominant position of control without it being to our detriment.

Overall to flow we must find balance. Be willing to seek out in your personal world anything that makes you feel off kilter, whether this be internally or externally. This requires non biased observation of self and our surroundings. Be willing to seek, be willing to see, be willing to change course if necessary.
